Do you like making your own fun in small groups of friends, having adventures and the opportunity to make like minded friends across the whole world, including Eretz Yisrael??

Girlguiding offers your family a supportive and safe girls only environment in which to discover and grow through teamwork and leadership skills, life skills,a love of the outdoors and new hobbies in a safe adult leader led environment (with increasing autonomy as you move through the sections). All the Girlguiding sections from age 5 to adult meet at the United Synagogue in Croxdale Road. Meeting times (during school term time) are as follows for the various age groups:-

6th Borehamwood Rainbows (5-7) Wednesday evenings in the Cheder building from 5.30pm

4th Borehamwood Brownies (7-10) Monday evenings in the Gilah Hall from 5.30-7pm

9th Borehamwood Brownies (7-10) Wednesday evenings in the Gilah Hall from 5.30-7pm

4th Borehamwood Guides & Senior Section (10-14 & 14-25) Monday evenings from 7-8.30p

All the units also try to go on an indoor based fully Kosher and Shomer Shabbat overnight sleepover, holiday or camp under canvas (according to age and ability) at least once a year. All Leaders who lead such trips have to have a Camping/Holiday Licence from Girlguiding so that we can ensure the young peoples’ safety. There are also several multi faith Guides and Brownies across the District meeting on either Monday or Wednesday evenings.

We would love to be able to start another Jewish Rainbow Unit at any of the other shuls as the Rainbows at Croxdale Road are heavily oversubscribed. Each unit would need of three ladies aged over 18 and under 65 (for the Leader in charge) to be prepared to volunteer to launch your units.

For more information about who we are and what we do here across all communities in the UK, please visit the main UK website at and check out the parents’ section and also our young peoples’ websites and then register your interest online and we’ll get back to you ASAP. Or for an informal chat please don’t hesitate to call me, Penny, on 020 8441 1202.
