The Yavneh minyan (which is held at Yavneh College on Hillside Avenue) is a welcoming space for prayer, attended by young families living close to Yavneh College but also attracting many other people young and old from around Borehamwood and Elstree.
We hold Shabbat services at the Yavneh College shul every Friday night, including Minchah, Kabblat Shabbat and Ma’ariv.
In the Winter months we also run Gingerbread Storytime for kids following the songs of Kabblat Shabbat – the children are told a story and a get a chance to eat a cookie before coming back into the shul to sing Yigdal.
We are also in the shul for most Yom Tov evening services.
Shabbat morning services are held fortnightly, on the following dates: 9th and 23rd November, 7th and 21st December, 11th and 25th January, 8th and 22nd February, and 8th and 22nd March. Further dates from April 2014 onwards will confirmed in due course.
On Shabbat mornings we run three children’s services: toddlers (pre-school), infants (nursery and reception years) and junior (years 1-3).
And then there’s the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services where this year we had about 500 people on site, four children’s services, a Hashkamah service and an explanatory service, plus kiddish during the service on both days Rosh Hashanah and lunch for the children on Yom Kippur – logistically successful and spiritually uplifting!
